PRO-FLO SADDLE TECHNOLOGY

Serfas takes a huge step forward in medically-developed cycling technology with the help of the Pro Sport Med Team, a group of renowned medical experts and cycling specialists who were involved in the development of a number of our products from the ground up. The research and clinical trials spearheaded by Dr. Kenneth Samuel Taylor and Dr. F. Allen Richburg helped create Serfas’ SportMed Pro-Flo Technology, which is used in many of our saddle and grip designs to increase safety and reduce discomfort caused by cycling.

These medical professionals know firsthand what it means to live an active lifestyle. An avid athlete himself, Dr. Taylor enjoys the challenges of mountain biking, surfing, hiking, and triathlons. Dr. Taylor earned his M.D. from the University of California, San Diego, School of Medicine and received his Family and Sports Medicine training at UCSD Medical Center, where he was selected as Chief Resident.

Dr. Richburg is not only a Board Certified Family Practice and Sports Medicine Physician; he is also a United States Cycling Federation Category 1 cyclist. He has 13 national championship medals under his belt, including a Masters National Championship in 2002. Dr. Richburg also serves as a Clinical Instructor and Team Physician for San Diego State University and is one of the physicians at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California.
